Terms

Last updated: 28 September 2026

These terms cover your use of theleancpto.com and anything you buy from The Lean CPTO. By using the site or buying from us, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The Lean CPTO is based in Sydney, Australia (“we”, “us”). Questions: hello@theleancpto.com.

1. What we do, and what we don’t

The Lean CPTO offers education, coaching and tools for non-technical founders: free guides and downloads, live workshops, the Sell as you build program and the Manual MVP Builder.

Everything we provide is general education and information. It isn’t legal, financial, tax, security or regulatory advice, and it isn’t a promise of results. Your results depend on your market, your offer and your effort. We don’t promise income or revenue.

Before you sell anything near a regulated area (for example finance, health, legal services or personal data), check the rules where you operate with a qualified professional.

2. Free guides, downloads and tools

You’re welcome to use our guides, PDFs and templates for your own business. Please don’t resell them, republish them as your own, or share paid material outside the program.

3. The Manual MVP Builder

The Manual MVP Builder uses AI (Claude, by Anthropic) to write a starting plan from your answers.

  • The plan is a starting point, written by AI. It can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. Check it before you rely on it, especially the agreement and anything near a red line.
  • Don’t enter confidential information, trade secrets or other people’s personal information.
  • Don’t use the Builder for anything unlawful or harmful, or try to overload, misuse or get around its limits.
  • We limit how many plans and questions each person can use, and we may pause the Builder at any time.
  • You can use the plan it gives you however you like.

4. Workshops

  • Workshops are live online sessions on Google Meet. You register and pay through Luma.
  • If you can’t attend, you’ll get the recording.
  • Refunds: cancel at least 48 hours before the workshop starts and you’ll get a full refund. After that, we can’t refund your ticket, but you can move your spot to a later date of the same workshop once, or pass it to a colleague. Just email us before it starts.
  • If we need to cancel or reschedule, we’ll offer you a new date or a full refund.

5. Sell as you build

Joining. You apply first. If we think it’s a fit, we’ll send you a payment link. Your payment secures your spot in the next intake. If we don’t think it’s a fit after you’ve paid, you get a full refund.

What’s included. The program runs over 12 weeks, with weekly live calls, monthly kickoffs, lessons, templates and six months in the founder group. Private adds 8 one-to-one sessions with Matt of up to 90 minutes each. The current details and prices are on the program page.

Prices. Prices are shown in US dollars. Founding member pricing applies to payments made by 31 December 2026, Sydney time.

Payment plans. If you choose 3 monthly payments, you’ll be charged 3 times, once a month, and then the payments stop. If a payment fails, we’ll let you know. Access may pause until the payment is made.

The Week 4 Promise. By week 4 you get a verdict. If you post your Weekly Scorecard and attend the live calls for your first 4 weeks, you can choose by the end of week 5 to:

  • Refine: keep going with your idea
  • Pivot: switch to a better customer group or offer, and restart the Sell weeks
  • Start fresh: bring a new idea into the Sell weeks
  • Refund: get your money back

Pivot and start fresh can each be used once. For a refund on a payment plan, we refund what you’ve paid and cancel any remaining payments.

Other refunds. Apart from the Week 4 Promise and your rights under consumer law, payments aren’t refundable after week 5.

Your part. Turn up, do the work, and treat other founders with respect. We may remove anyone who is abusive, disrupts the group or shares other members’ information. If we do, we’ll refund the unused part of your payment unless the removal was for serious misconduct.

Other members’ ideas. Keep what other founders share in the group confidential. We ask every member to do the same, but we can’t guarantee it.

Recordings. Group calls may be recorded and shared with members of the program.

6. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that can’t be excluded. The Week 4 Promise is in addition to those rights.

7. Our content

The guides, lessons, templates, videos and the Sell as you build method belong to us. Buying the program gives you a personal licence to use them in your own business. Please don’t share your login, copy the program or teach it as your own.

You own your ideas, your offers and anything you create in the program.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses that come from decisions you make based on our education or tools, including business, build or spending decisions. If we are responsible for a loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service in question. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Links to other sites

We link to other websites and tools, such as Stripe, Luma, YouTube and the sources in our guides. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies from the date at the top. If you’ve already paid for a program, the terms in place when you paid apply to that purchase.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.
